Art Therapy

Sessions are designed  for individuals to heal and express themselves creatively.
Art therapy is the therapeutic use of art making, within a professional relationship, by people who experience illness, trauma or challenges in living, and by people who seek personal development. Through creating art and reflecting on the art products and processes, people can increase awareness of self and others cope with symptoms, stress and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art.
Many interventions can be used in the art therapy process. Material and intervention preferences are designed to suite the individual and their personal needs. Art Media and processes can include: Painting, drawing, pastels, clay work,

sensory exploration, collage, mask making, box collage, sculpture, photography, printing, mosaic, beading and weaving.

Other creative communication can extend to: sand play, narrative expression, music and movement.
